Live broadcast, February 1st, NBA regular season, Lakers against Knicks.
Before the game, Lakers coach Ham talked in an interview about James’s distance surpassing Jabal and becoming the new historical scoring king of NBA, which was only 117 points short.
Ham said: “I think this may be one of our four major sports events (rugby, basketball, baseball, ice hockey), and it is one of the most difficult records to be broken. We have many records that are hard to break, but I never think anyone can get close to Jabbar’s record.”
“We have seen Jordan and Kobe, but I still think no one can get close to Jabbar’s record, but now we can see it. I think this makes James the best player in history. I don’t mind calling him the best for his persistence and his significance to the league.”
